Panel Thicknesses
Balance sound goals, panel size, weight, and practical handling.
Thickness is one part of the configuration
Thickness works alongside panel material, air gap, seal quality, and the existing window. A thicker panel does not by itself guarantee a particular noise reduction.
Available information
Existing product pages include 1/4-inch and 3/8-inch examples, and the soundproofing overview discusses configurations up to 1/2 inch. Confirm the thickness, material, and mounting details in your project recommendation.
Size and handling matter
Larger and thicker panels can be harder to remove and store. Panel divisions and mounting details may be needed to meet both performance and access goals.
