Trains

Window soundproofing for trains.

Consider airborne train noise and building vibration separately.

Understand the sound path

Train exposure can include wheel noise, announcements, horns, and low rumble. An interior window system addresses sound entering through the window; vibration transmitted through the building needs separate consideration.

What we consider

The recommendation starts with your room and existing windows. Multiple panel and mounting configurations may be appropriate.

  • Tell us whether the train is above ground, nearby, or directly outside the window.
  • Share whether you hear a sound, feel vibration, or both.
  • A larger air gap, appropriate panel thickness, and a continuous seal may be considered as part of the configuration.

Explore a related space and real examples

Use the solutions and demo library to explore relevant installations. Available examples vary by noise type; an individual demo does not predict the result in a different room.

Configured for your space
